He's the one the looks like he's dead (the continuing story …)

Buckfastleigh, Devon, 17th-19th October 2008.

The ULMC walking trip to Devon started much as any other. After sampling the delights of Knightsbridge and a quick stop off at Harrods, Toby Tours (inc.) started on the long route to the infamous Buckfastleigh. We were regaled with his extensive collection of CD and it seemed to take no time at all.

On arrival in Devon introductions were made, red wine was drunkand even more spilt; the anticipation for the following day was running high. Morning came, bringing with it good weather (but of course no one would believe 'the girl who cried sunshine.') Being a walking trip only, the climbing walkers did some Very Difficult walks on the Dewerstone. The walking walkers tackled the South Eastern expanse of Dartmoor bagging Tors and indeed wet feet as they went.

Major 'Tom' Headen provided us with his meaty balls in curry sauce for sustenance that evening followed by the president's cake and custard. Stan and Ollie kept us entertained through the night, before their new found friendship led them to cooking us all breakfast. Stan then led the walkers off round North West Dartmoor with Ollie and the rest of the climbing walkers forgoing the attraction of Tempt Tor for the more comfortable Bench.

Thus, after another navigational debacle from a veteran fool, the party returned safely to London!
